Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really free?
It’s a free 30-day trial to explore the Academy: modules, exams, certificates and core features. Downloads like Practice Packs, eBooks and 1-page field checklists are not included in the free trial.
What happens after 30 days?
After the trial, you can continue with an annual membership (currently £79/year) to keep full access.
How do I start the free trial?
Click Start Free 30-Day Trial below. You’ll be taken to the Academy page with the Start Trial option already open, so you can create your login and continue to the dashboard.
I bought exams before — will my progress carry over?
Yes. If you previously used the legacy exams system, you can link your existing exam progress to your new Academy login using the on-screen Migration option (when prompted).
Where should I start?
Start with the essentials in this order: Exposure → Aperture → Shutter Speed → ISO, then move on to Focus and Composition. Each module is designed to build confidence quickly.
Can I download the lessons?
During the free trial, learning is available inside the Academy. Downloadable resources such as Practice Pack PDFs, eBooks and 1-page field checklists are included with paid membership.
Do I need any specialist equipment?
No — any camera will work (including a phone). A tripod and spare battery can help for some assignments, but they’re optional.
Can I do the course on a phone?
Yes. A laptop or desktop is recommended for the best experience with diagrams and side-by-side examples, but you can learn on mobile.
Already registered — how do I log in?
Go to /academy/login and choose Log in. (This landing page only links to the Start Trial flow.)
