Welcome to Alan Ranger Photography 

I am a photographic artist who has developed my own vision and style that portrays people, objects, vistas and the world as I feel about them, rather than how we normally see them.

Most people struggle at times to; either capture the shot they see or see the shot they want to capture – to this end my images give an insight into this vision and my passion is used to create and teach people, at all levels, how to master the technology and spend more time thinking about the shot they want and having the know-how to craft the image.

Teaching people to see, design and then capture, process and importantly publish their work is something that is a real pleasure for me and having gained national and international recognition I strive to share as much knowledge as I can, in as many ways as possible, using classroom courses, location based workshops and master classes to help anyone who wishes to get more from their camera for whatever purpose they choose.

My own work is predominantly, but not exclusively landscapes, but ranges from the intimate and often abstract within a scene to the wider vista that so many of us enjoy.  My perfectionist approach to getting as much right in camera as possible has definitely reduced any post production time but more importantly helps to find those special ingredients that make an image stand out from the ordinary.
