hartland quay is a difficult place to photograph in that a scramble over wet slippery boulders and rocks is required and to get this vantage point you have to balance carefully and have eyes in the back of your head to watch the incoming tide creep up from all angles before you are marooned on an outcrop.

The view to the fileds through chesterton's windmill arches will be spolied for ever if Stratford District Council approve plans for a 3000 home development site.
Don't let this iconic monument that has stood here for 350 years be scarred by the effect of a housing estate in its view.

hartland fingers photography tips
this is my favourite of the images i got from hartland quay. the light was just right for a mere 30 seconds or so, enabling me to capture great detail in the rocks and a good balance of colour throughout the scene.
yes i know very pink but theses camellia's are really eye catching this time of year. So i ventured 5ft into my back garden where this very pink specimen gazes at me through the patio doors. wanted a slightly soft, dreamy and abstract feel to this one.
Heddons Mouth explosions
15 mins before sunrise, snow had already fallen on the hill tops at various points in the previous days but this morning was sub zero, icey and totally still to the extent that the light mist even froze on the horizon - all perfect conditions for capturing this scene and keeping the white balance cold to represent the temperature of my fingertips :)
Pictures are the expression of the photographer; they reflect perception and individuality, portraying a journey through life.
