Portrait Photography Course
This course is for those with a basic grasp of photography, wishing to learn how to compose more enchanting portrait photographs.
Is this for me?
Available to photographers of all levels, this course is taught in either 3 evening sessions, or a 1 day workshop.
To get the most out of this class, undertake Alan’s 3 hour beginner’s course beforehand and reach a basic level of photographic proficiency.
- Observe examples of quality portraits
- Learn photography composition
- Lighting, aperture, ISO and framing.
- Live model shoot
Learn the importance of light, shutter speed, aperture, white balance and focal length for creating better portraits.
Study camera settings needed to capture sharp images.
Achieve correct colour on your model’s skin tone.
Be able to to use natural light for outstanding portraits.
Gain a confident manner in which to engage your subject and capture natural poses.
How you will learn
The day is split in to two parts: in the morning, you will be lectured by Alan on the fundamentals of portrait photography.
In the afternoon, take part in a live model shoot and undertake a photographic assignment, applying your newly acquired knowledge.
One-to-one support from Alan will be available throughout the day, and you will receive course notes for future reference.
