We will walk around several historic parts of Coventry in this 2.5hr workshop photographing buildings and ruins - all to practise the art of dealing with tricky light, learning how to focus in the dark, long exposures and hopefully some good skies to help us capture that big space above us.
On this workshop Alan will guide you through:
Focusing in low light
Long Exposure set-up
Form and Shape
Highlights & Shadows
Contrasts in various forms and dimensions
Texture, Lines and Patterns
19:00 - Meet at specified location
19:00-19:15 - Workshop Briefing, preparation and set-up
19:15 - Walk and shoot around historic and modern architectural parts of city
21:30 - Event finish
Fitness Level Required - Very Easy
This trip is rated as very easy, meaning there is practically no walking involved to get to the location and the terrain is easy to navigate
Experience Level - Beginner
The class and workshop are suitable for any level, including beginners. Ideally you will understand exposure, aperture and be shooting in Aperture Priority or Manual Exposure mode.
All participants receive 1-2-1 tuition and support on practical workshops so that tutoring can be tailored to the individuals needs and experience.
Equipment for this workshop
What to bring:
Your camera, fully charged battery and spare battery if you have one.
Remote Release Cable to take/time shots without touching the camera.
A wide angle lens to ensure you can frame buildings - Any focal length between 10mm-24mm is suitable. Zoom lenses 24-200 or equivalent to ensure you can pick out details or frame tighter compositions
Tripod (essential) I can hire you one for the session at the cost of £10 but let me know in advance if you want one.
