Congratulations - Jacki Rosin

Jacki has had 9 images selected to appear in 10 exhibitions across the UK between July and December 2016.  This is a great achievement and Jacki outperformed her teacher who got 7 images accepted for exhibition.

When the  The Photographic Angle (TPA) approached me 8 months ago to provide them some images and help promote one of the exhibitions in Coventry I was delighted.  At the time I blogged about the exhibition and met Jacki a few others at the exhibition one cold Sunday morning.   The images are displayed on large (approx 2 meter by 2 meter canvass frames) so looked impressive on a large scale.

Jacki Rosin - Photographic Angle Exhibition

The Photographic Angle holds free exhibitions that travel across the UK transforming otherwise empty spaces into temporary galleries. The exhibitions showcase contemporary work submitted by students, graduates and enthusiasts of the art of photography, giving the public the chance to explore this fascinating medium which can be art, an occupation, or simply a pastime.

Following our visit to the exhibition I checked what themes were coming up and emailed a number of people to encourage them to enter work for the "Creativity" theme.  Jacki was naturally apprehensive and almost dismissive that her work was not good enough!  You know me, I told her to enter anyway and that she shouldn't doubt the quality of work so quickly.

This is one of those times when I thank myself for being so pushy! I hope this blog and news now encourages more of you to enter the TPA photographic themes.  For details see here:

There is no cost to submitting work or having your work printed and exhibited so you really do have nothing to lose.

Jacki has a rapid journey and I am very proud of her achievements.  She started with me on a beginners course 2-3 years ago and since then has gone on to undertake workshops, master classes, mentoring and more courses - the Intermediates course she did a year ago led to her work being exhibited in a local gallery and her selling her work to the public.  I can't claim the credit for her improvement and successes as ultimately she has put the work in with me just providing support, guidance and tuition where needed.

Well done Jacki, another milestone in your development and proof that you really can do it and go on to even bigger things if you don't doubt yourself and continue with your development.
