New series of workshops launched

New series of workshops launched
Alan Ranger Photography(44)

I'm really excited to be able to confirm the launch of two new types of workshops for 2017.

The first is a regular monthly workshop at Batsford Arboretum, in Gloucestershire, to support their "Calendar Competition".  It's not Countryfile or winter, spring or autumn Nature Watch, it's better because it's your photographs from Batsford Arboretum with some great prizes.

The second new workshop is my "Family Sharpshooters" aimed at child and parent(s) or guardians to provide a way for them to enjoy photography together and explore the outdoors.

Monthly Batsford Photography Workshops

To support this competition I will be holding a monthly workshop at Batsford Arboretum to help attendees capture the best of each month and season at Batsford.  This will include a guided walk around the highlights for that month at Batsford with personalised 1-2-1 tuition for each person based on their camera, experience and particular subject interest.

Participants can of course enter photos from these workshops into the competition if they wish.  However, there is no requirement to enter and you may just want to capture and enjoy the changes month to month at Batsford with my support.

Family Sharpshooter Workshops

The family sharpshooter events are really great for getting kids involved in photography and the outdoors.  Being a parent I appreciate how finding something to do with the kids in the holidays, that doesn't just involve spending big chunks of money and frustration standing in queues and packed out venues, can be challenging.

The family sharpshooter events are for parents and children (or guardians) to enjoy some time out together in an outdoor nature environment with any photo capturing device (iPods, phones or any type of camera) on a fun set of challenges designed to encourage children to explore and capture what they find.

A set of photographic seek, find and capture challenges will be provided on the 2.5hr workshop around the location.  Alan will start each workshop with a brief tutorial on how to hold the camera/device and some basic tips for composition and picture making.  He will then accompany the group around the location to assist and point out potential photographs that the adult and child can both capture.

The first set of dates has been listed on my workshop events page for Batsford and I hope to be able to expand this to other locations soon.

At £20,  these present a great option for a morning or afternoon in beautiful surrounding for an adult and child to explore and capture the outdoors together.

Each child will receive a "Camera Ranger" sticker and a selection of their images will be published on my website.
