This is the new follow-on course for anyone who has attended my 5 Week Beginners Foundation Course or already has a good understanding of exposure, composition and image making but wants to take their photography to the next step.
Level 1 - 5 week beginners course (covers exposure and basic camera settings, composition and essential gear)
Level 2 - 6 week intermediates course (covers more advanced camera settings, techniques, creative photo editing and specific topics in genres)
Aimed at the Intermediate level this photography course is for those who want to develop their skills, understanding and abilities further.
Pre-requisites and target audience:
- Has already completed the 5 week beginners course and 4 week Lightroom course with Alan Ranger.
- Or has good experience and knowledge of camera settings and is already shooting in RAW using Manual, S or A exposure modes, has a good grasp of image editing in Lightroom and or Photoshop.
- Or someone looking to pursue a career in photography or achieve a qualification/accreditation in photography.

Advanced DSLR – Metering, Focusing. DoF and other camera settings
Filters and Light – Dynamic Range, using filters and bracketing
Abstract Photography – A guide on how to with an assignment (Covers how and why choose, patterns, shapes, colour, textures etc.)
Macro Photography - A guide on how to with an assignment (Covers focus stacking and understanding DoF etc.)
B&W Photography - A guide on how to with an assignment (Covers basic approach to B&W and conversion in SilverEffex)
Landscape Photography- A guide on how to with an assignment (Covers basic approaches, best practices and using light and design to create)
Portrait Photography - A guide on how to with an assignment (Covers top ten tips re getting best from subject and typical camera settings)
