Exhibition - last minute preparations
With less than 24hrs to go my 7 amigos gathered for a the penultimate time to put the final touches to their inaugural exhibition opening.
Anyone who has put an exhibition on will know that creating the art is only part of the process and there is a lot of work and often difficult decisions to be made when it comes to putting that work on show to the public. As ever this exhibition threw up all the usual dilemmas that artists face but I have to say that on this occasion I was inspired by the support and help that each person gave to their fellow photographers to help each other frame, hang and prepare everything.
However the opening night goes tomorrow, and I am sure it will be success, I am very proud of the accomplishment of each and everyone of the participating artists, not just for the work and progress that they have shown over 3 months to pull this together but also because they have become so supportive of each other and shared the journey together as a group.
As special thanks also goes to Gerry and Lilly (and others) at The Arts Trail for doing a sterling job in preparing and printing images and assisting with everything else that goes into making an exhibition.
I hope many of you will attend tomorrow nights Private Viewing at 7pm - details below. If you can't make it tomorrow night then please make sure you get down to the gallery between now and Jan 4th and see the diverse, exciting array of work produced by local photographers who, all less than, a year ago considered themselves just beginner's!
